A 垂吊燈具翻譯自Suspension Lights，與其相對的是吸頂燈Ceiling Lights，從其名就可以知道它比吸頂燈低許多，而且有垂吊電線與支撐從天花板垂下來，垂下的支撐可有多組燈架，這樣的燈具始自歐洲中古世紀，當時垂吊支撐只是十字木架而已，燈具也只是蠟燭托盤，並無水晶吊飾，所以垂吊燈具另一個常用的稱呼是Chandelier這個字，此字就是從法文的Chandelle 蠟燭而來，後來Chandelier 較常用於有水晶吊飾的垂弔燈具，也就是水晶燈，而Suspension Lights 則包含傳統的水晶燈、鍛鐵燈(Arm Wrought Iron Chandelier)、甚至更多的新式現代燈具設計。

A 室內設計須有『強調』才能生動而引人注目，所謂『強調』因素是整體中最醒目的部分，它雖然面積不大，但卻有其“特異”功能：具有吸引人視覺的強大優勢，畫龍點睛之餘，也轉移注意力，將其他因陋就簡的小瑕疵、小毛病變得不重要了!

二十多年前的台灣，居家用水晶燈是豪宅、權貴的象徵，一方面身軀龐大的垂弔水晶燈若不是夠高的天花板，掛起來相當格格不入，另一方面因為商業、飯店、甚至聲色場所的大量使用，也帶動了缺乏美學自信的新富家庭競相模仿，當時水晶燈曾風靡一時。
無止盡的古典華麗，缺乏在地人文基礎的融入，未經消化的的歐洲宮廷美學『新古典』、『巴洛可』居家風格，物極必反的走到盡頭，取而代之的是深色木作、極簡空間的『日式新禪風』，頓時鐵刀、深棕色的傢俱氾濫台灣賣場，水晶燈只得提起打扮過時的禮服裙角，尷尬地下臺一鞠躬。
直到近日，「低調奢華」沸沸揚揚，讓這位曾經風華一時的的絕代女伶再度現身，這次的她已經卸下過度的濃妝豔抹，改以溫柔婉約的風格再現，不止可以「低調奢華」，也可以平民地配合美式風格，甚至特立獨行的「搖滾洛可哥」展現個性，再怎麼「混搭」都相當得宜，成為每個時髦居家必用的配備。
Q 水晶燈最好離地幾公尺呢?我的家樓高只有283公分 這樣的樓高裝水晶燈會不會太矮, 導致壓迫感太重?
水晶燈雖然很漂亮，但也要考慮空間坪數及安裝高度，我裝水晶燈的天花板，最低曾經只有250cm，當然燈下要有桌子，即使燈吊的低，頭才不會撞到，在餐廳當然在餐桌上方，若在客廳就放在中央茶几上方，大部分的餐桌我用8燈，若要燈裝的低，可用瘦高型得水晶燈，因為這樣的燈脖子長，可以避免壓迫感。
我裝的燈大部分都8燈、高瘦型、又低，若是客廳與餐廳同一個空間，其實只要餐廳用強調式的水晶燈即可，一來避免同一空間雙主題燈具，稀釋了主題性，二來，客廳可以用別的家飾來強調，例如地毯就是很好的氛圍主題，雙燈多花了錢，但效果不一定更好。
Q 若餐廳這個空間內僅有水晶燈一個光源, 亮度夠嗎?
若是無燈罩的8燈水晶燈放在6人餐桌上，吃飯是一定夠亮，但讀書則可能需加一盞聚光的立燈，端看燈的高度而定。
Q 水晶燈的折射會不會讓人不舒服?
水晶燈的折射我認為影響不大，大部分嫌它炫光又刺眼，是因為其為裸燈之故，若是非燈罩式的水晶燈，燈泡幾乎都為裸燈為主，燈泡當然選擇霧狀比透明的較不刺眼，但是每個人對光線炫光接受的程度不一，還是走一趟賣場，實地感受較好
Q 垂吊水晶燈怎麼清潔？由於餐廳與廚房在同一個空間, 很擔心油煙對水晶燈的影響.?
A 您可以2手戴棉布手套，一手沾肥皂水 一手是乾的手套，清潔水晶燈時，一手沾濕水晶，一手擦乾水晶
A 水晶燈大都用鎢絲燈泡，每單燈可以用40瓦或60瓦的燈泡，8燈就要 40*8=320 或 60*8=480瓦，因為裸燈 不建議用省電燈泡，先階段有人在蠟燭式的 LED 燈，但並不普遍
Q 4~6坪使用水晶燈為主燈，是否照明不夠，或是需再加間接照明呢?
